American Woman Sets Conditions for Return

In October 2024, 33-year-old American citizen Onijah Andrew Robinson traveled from New York to Karachi, Pakistan, to meet 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon, whom she had met online. Upon her arrival, Memon's family objected to their relationship, leading him to decline marriage. Consequently, Robinson found herself stranded in Karachi after her visa expired. Efforts by an NGO and the U.S. Consulate to facilitate her return were unsuccessful, as she refused to leave without Memon. She has since requested Pakistani citizenship and a weekly allowance of $3,000, expressing her desire to remain in the country.
